About Donorline
Donorline is a small independent guide to one subject, the hair transplant itself. Here is how it is written, what it refuses to do, and what it is not.
Donorline explains the hair transplant procedure: what it is, how it is done, who it suits, how recovery unfolds and what can go wrong. It is written by a small editorial team from published sources, and it is not reviewed by a clinician.
Not reviewed by a clinician
We say this plainly because health sites often blur it. No doctor, surgeon or nurse has reviewed these pages, and none is employed by or advising Donorline. We never claim that a page was checked by a doctor, because none was.
What we do instead is attribute. Each fact that could change, such as a time frame, a figure or a professional body's position, is tied to a named source: the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS) and its practice census, peer-reviewed reviews, and government travel advice. We record the date we read each one. If we could not confirm something at its source, we left it out rather than softening it.
What we will not publish
- Before-and-after photos, patient stories or testimonials. We have none, and we will not invent any.
- Clinic or surgeon rankings. We don't name, rate or recommend clinics or surgeons.
- Prices or destinations. This site is about the procedure. Cost and travel are separate questions we don't cover.
- Dosing or treatment instructions. Where medicines come up, we say that a prescriber decides.
- Promises. No transplant is guaranteed, and we avoid words that suggest otherwise.
- Speculation about real people. We never discuss any named person's hair or procedures.
How the site is funded
Donorline may earn money from one affiliate programme, for a chain that offers free consultations in the US and Canada. That link is marked where it appears, and the affiliate disclosure explains the arrangement and the offers we refuse. Most of the advice on this site, such as seeing a GP or dermatologist first and checking a surgeon through a professional directory, earns us nothing, and we say so where it appears.
The illustrations
Every drawing on the site is original, made for Donorline. The heads, follicles and diagrams are invented and schematic. They don't show real people, real results or any clinic's work, and none of them depicts an outcome you should expect.
Corrections
If you find an error, especially a fact that has changed at its source, the contact page explains how to tell us. We correct errors and update the date the page was checked.
